Go the fairfax county dump off of west ox rd. You can recycle oil, coolant and paint there for FREE!!!!

You can also take your oil to any ADVANCED AUTO PARTS to be disposed of for free.

So giving it back to the earth via a hole in the backyard ,doesn't = recycling?

Yes Advanced auto is a possible location .. they are all listed in the website according to distance from your residence .. helps you pick the closest one

I'm up to speed on the oil recycling, but I have several 5-gal cans of very old gasoline. Is there any place that will let you dump the gas and KEEP the cans? Haven't had any luck in Fairfax...

Water will settle to the bottom. Why not just dump a gallon of it, taken from the top, into your car or truck tank right after you fill up... and have drawn the tank down enough to pour a gallon in. Your car won't know the difference at that small of a dilution. Gas is expensive enough, put it to good use.

But you didn't define how old was "very old gasoline"... so YMMV....

That's probably Deeps method for purifying it....

BTW, I was at the MoCo refuse ctr on Shady Grove Rd to drop off some anti-freeze and used oil.... they now take used filters. I have been throwing them in the trash. But I'm happy I can dispose of them properly now.
