brembo rebuild kit - September 25, 2009, 07:19 AM

I got it yesterday and decided to put it in! The instructions didn't seem to have anything for exactly what I was trying to replace but since Christopher at parts@nesba.com had described it to me I figured it wasn't to difficult.
First part was popping the clip off the pin that the lever rotates on.
I used a screwdriver and opened it up and pushed it off and the pin comes right out. This allowed the lever and the adjustment rod to come off since the part inside was broken (exactly why I need to rebuild it! )

Next I needed to get the adjustment knob off which is held onto the adjustment rod by a very small dowl. This was a bit of a pain as I didn't have anything that small (no jokes from the peanut gallery) so I use a small nail to drive it through and it finally came out.

Then I could turn the adjustment rod out of the lever, put the new plate on the rod and lube up the ballend a bit.

At the master cylinder where this came out is the rubber boot. This just pulls off and behind that is the retaining clip. I have the tool to remove this which made it much easier. This allows you to get the broken part of the plate out. When you remove this clip the master cylinder plunger will come out and some fluid will leak so be ready.

With the new retaining clip I pushed the adjustment rod in far enough so I could get the retaining clip in. I had to hold the adjustment rod in with one hand and using the clip tool get it in and let it go. This was probably the hardest part that took me 3 or 4 times to get.

Then I slid the new rubber boot over and just pushed it into place.
Held the lever up to the adjustment rod and using a flat head screw driver screwed it into the lever. Put the pivot pin in and the clip and then the knob that goes over the adjustment rod. I used a pair of needle nose to hold the small dowl until it got into place and then using those same pliers tapped it in. DONE.

Now I just need to bleed it again!
Hope this helps someone...

When i went down in turn 1 on main the bar end came out and then the lever caught. This is what it is designed to do instead of doing other major damage.

The image I posted is from the very company I bought the kit from for less than $40. They will ask if your brembo is billet or forged.
This is the sku number for the forged, 110.4266.60
A billet MC is $$$
