on the 636 it only gains power in the last 3k rpm. great if your on the track, but not so much of a help on the street.

2000 model ZX12s are unrestricted. Only slight errors....11,600 rpm on the actual rev limiter, not 11,500 although differ from one unit to the other.

2001-2003 models are all derestricted in the same manner. The 04-05 models have a 32 bit ecu and are a little more difficult to derestrict. A buddy on an 05 on spray at Maxton was still only able to go 186 mph. Another fellow ZX12 rider with a super-sized 2004 model 1427cc engine also built and tuned by Rick Beggs derestricted the right way and went 203.6 mph.

Good info though. We've seen 636s put out the same RWHP as the Ducati 848. Kawasakis are screamers.
