Go-pro video editing question - February 14, 2011, 05:45 PM

Since the go pro uses MP4 video and windows movie maker doesn't support MP4 so it wont let me edit it. Does anyone have another way of editing their vids? or should I have to buy a video converting software?

MPEG Streamclip may help with some of your issues. At least it does for Final Cut, but worth a shot for MM as well.

I THINK I was just changing the file extension to like .mov to make Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 accept the .mp4 files... I'm just going off memory.

I believe only the Windows 7 and higher versions of Windows Movie Maker accept .mp4. Earlier versions do not.

Try the file extension change first to see if it works with your version of WMM... I doubt that it will though.... If not, I'd say start looking for converters online... I use a converter called voltaicHD for conversions... It cost me like $35 I think. Gets the job done.

Hope this helps...
