Need help getting rid of rear fender - May 4, 2007, 01:42 PM

Got a 06 VFR800. Only place Ive seen this mod done that keeps the light is on:

first 6 pics.

Also like the looks of rear huggers. Damm things are expensive for VFR's. Why is it that the UK has all this crap for VFR's but the US doesnt?

I made one for my VFR for a few cents with stuff from Home Depot (a few L brackets for the light, a piece of aluminum plate, and a few bolts). It looked great (you couldn't even see any hardware and I kept the stock light). Only problem was that I needed to find a way to keep water from getting up between the tail light and undertail. If you don't ride in the rain, then it shouldn't be an issue.

would a rear hugger help with this? I imagine that the stock fender keeps water from between the tail light and the undertail.

well i was just about to order a FE kit from competition wereks, but decided to measure the plate first. Low and behold, VA's plates are too wide to go between the exhaust.
DARNIT!

My VA plate fit between the stock pipes just fine with my home made bracket.

can you post a picture. I will post mine when I get home.

This is the CW FEK. Looks like the license holder is cut.

QUESTION: i am purchasing a 2006 honda vfr800 in the next couple of days. i am interested to know if the rear fender eliminator will work with the stock exhaust??
ANSWER: Yes
QUESTION: there is only 6 inches between my pipes so can your kit fit my plate between the pipes when the plate is 7 inches?
ANSWER: Your pipes get closer the farther back they are.... This kit mounts about 9-10 inches forward..... where there's enough room.......

ok how wide is a VA plate?
