The Cove Sunday 12/6/2015 - December 3, 2015, 08:46 AM

So a couple of us are going to hit up the Cove in Gore,VA on Sunday. Weather looks perfect in the 50's and with 4 days of sunshine and some good wind the trails will be nice!

These days are not gonna last so get out there!

Just Kirk, Mike, and myself today. A bit brisk getting dressed but it was perfect out once we got rolling. Found a hill that none of us could get up, it will be conquered another day

There were quite a few quads and sxs' today. It was the most people I've seen out there in a long time. The best part about the cove is 1 way trails, so no problems with them (other than blocking the parking lot).

Outside of all the leaves this is pretty much the ideal time of year for riding...

So, will we be getting to the top of that hill with or without the leaves?

It was easy finding the hill on the gps track:

Are any of the trails street-bike friendly? I'm on a GS500E and occasionally hit fireroads, gravel, and dirt trails. Bumps here and there are fine but doubt I can do big jumps and large rocks.

Friend and I are planning an "ADV Ride" for next weeekend. So we're eager to find trails in the DMV

There are quite a few unpaved roads/forest roads that cut across the WV/VA border but that would be a long haul for you this time of year with cold short days. Better to explore in nice weather. Here's a picture heavy sampling of the off-the-beaten-path roads out here that can be ridden on a street bike.

That looks perfect and great pictures! Where did you finish the trail? Star Tannery is about 75 miles from me which isn't too bad if temperature is in the 40s. I can go far wearing the gear.
