Dirt bike tires, what to use? - May 29, 2014, 07:42 AM

Ok at the last race , harelywood, it felt like I had a flat the lap I did. I was running a new Michelin sc12 rear and a used sc12 front. Both at 10 psi with heavy duty tubes. On the hard pack these tires sucked. No traction front or rear. Next race these should be better. Just trying to find a good tire for hard pack, roots, and very little loose stuff. Also this is for hare scrambles not mx.

Ask Stillie, he seems to like the Kenda tires, not sure which model.

For MX the Dunlop Geomax MX52 seems to be the new hot tire in medium to hard pack and the MX32 for soft and loamy terrain. But serious offroad will kill them quick.

Michelin starcross MH2 works great in hardpack, I run a Bridgestone M59 up front for everything and it works very well. Although I havent had much issue with my s12xc in hardpack and that is on the yz450. They do wear fast on hardpack though (s12)
