Al right. I know some of you got down to this event. Let's hear about it! Us couch folks need a little excitement.

It was a blast for my first time! Learned a lot....Like not to forget my Camel Back. Lol, I was so dehydrated after the first hour I caved in. Getting stuck in a 20" deep mud bog didn't help the situation. The roost from fellow riders in the bog really hosed me down. It took an ATV to get 5 of us out. One radiator was pretty caked up so I had to keep up the pace to keep cool. Unfortunately my pace isn't that fast.
Crazy good fun though. Shout out to Slider and Mud Dawg for replacing my rear tube while I waited in the (ginormous) registration line.

The registration line was stupid. I've seen it bad, but never that bad. Poor planning on their part.

Yeah, fixed Dino's rear tire while he was up in line. I could have switched to my mud tire, but it wasn't really slick enough for that.

Really nice course this year. Much more challenging than in years past. Lots of single track goodness. Only downside was the late start. Because of that a lot of the riding was iffy due to sun in your eyes. Hard to keep a good pace when you can't see anything.

Still no clue on the results. Figures. Given the speed yesterday, we *might* see them by next year's event.

Much of the same as MudDawg.

It was my first dirt race and my goal was to finish. DONE! The conditions were pretty good and I liked the course a lot. Slick in a few spots and had it challenging parts but nothing too drastic IMO. I found myself tired on the 3rd loop, maybe MTB'ing for 5 days straight prior to the race wasn't the smartest idea but oh well LOL.

Last I saw I was in 13th place and climbing after the 2nd loop but the final results haven't been released yet (scoring delay) so I'm interested to see where things ended up.

I'm already looking to more to go to!!! It was great seeing familiar faces out there from .Net as well as CCS!!

Thanks for the reports!

My first and only time there I got a horrible case of vertigo shortly before arriving at the race and never even took the bike out of the truck. I left around noon and it took me 6 hours to get back home with all the stopping to throw up from being dizzy as the world spun around me.

That experience kind of knocked the wind out of my sails to travel and race in general, LOL.

I got stuck in a mud hole on both laps I did. Seems to be a reoccurring theme for me at this race every year

I could have done a 3rd lap, but with that stupid mud hole waiting to eat me up a 3rd time and with how blinding the sun was, I called it a day.

At least I didn't get as stuck as the kawi guy here. Him, the guy on the honda, and myself struggled to get it out.

Oh and pro tip, don't leave your keys in someone else's vehicle. Just ask Thomas

The registration process was completely jacked up. The 12 am race did not kick off until 2. My guess is that they would have pushed it even further if there were not concerns about it getting dark (which it was while I was loading up).

The nice weather meant that there were a lot of riders. It was a bit different for me as this was a 2 hour race (vs. the usual 1.5 for the C class wienies) and the A, B, and C folks all ran together. The first lap was a bit of a CF with all the riders amp-ed up and the sloppy conditions. I was fortunate and did not get stuck in any of the mud bogs (Joe - you need a bigger motor =). I did get tangled up on a few of the short hill climbs where people stalled out or fell over at the top. There were a few spots with ice under the mud/clay that sent me skating, too.

Overall, the trail was the best I have ever seen out of that location. I had high hopes since SMDR were the folks cutting the trail. They had lots of alternate lines and they even put a jump in the woods over a drop-in in the trail.

I got 4 laps in. I hear the A guys got 5. Sore, but very satisfied.

Yea not a lot of faith in those results considering they have me in the results twice in 61st (as 79L which is what I entered as) and 199th as just 79.

199 is the more accurate one lol.

Yeah, they only got one of my 4 laps and that's it. I'm glad I was just there for a fun run.

Good on you for not blowing up about it but that's some BS right there. If they want to advertise this event as a race and charge entry fee for it they need to get off their asses and figure out what they need to do to score their races accurately.

I didn't leave tire marks on him. I consider that downright nice given his lack of motivation.
