Hatfield-McCoy 2015 spring errrr fall trip - February 24, 2015, 09:07 PM

*EDIT* Not doing a spring trip, going to focus on the fall instead.

There was talk in this thread about going way out west, but the beginning of the year is pretty busy for those of us that race so I think that would be something to consider more for the fall/early winter time frame. I'd love to ride out west.

Utah/New Mexico/Arizona?

Oregon/Washington looks to have epic riding also, but fawk that is about as far away as one can go

I have some buddies going to Moab in April.

You should see if there is room for the Colorado trip. It's relatively cheap for the 10 days of riding time, amount of trails, and just the different riding.

Not that much further than the Bristol and Martinsville races, lol.

I'll sadly miss the spring trip but I have a great excuse: baby is due April 1st! and I can't leave Momma home too soon.
I'll go ahead and hijack this topic by mentioning I'm definitely going this fall no matter what! October 23 or 24 to the 28th.
Good luck with the spring trip and I hope everyone racing has a great season!

Congrats man. Looks like no response here for the spring trip so let's plan on fall. Those dates look good. I'll try to find some new blood to bring as well. Which trails are you focusing on?

Fall sounds doable. My shoulder is still not very strong, so I'm just taking it easy and working on the exercises.

Sounds good, spring trip is out, fall trip it is. The race schedule is much less crowded at the end of the year anyway

I'll be bringing my father and nephew on quads this fall too. They'll do their own thing most of the time though as I'm still all about singletrack!
I love buffalo mountain and rock house. Maybe a weekend day at bear wallow too (weekend so we can explore the whole closed section down by the mine.) I'm undecided if it's better to stay in one place and drive to the other trail systems a couple days or stay two places like we did last year?
