The Hyper in Knight and Day isn't a Hyper - June 23, 2010, 09:35 PM

Swingarm, motor, and the exhaust are a dead giveaway. Looks like the upper portion of the frame is from a Hyper though. Interesting crossbreed.

LOL. Kinda like the Ninja 900 /GPz 900 he rode in Topgun? I had always heard they put the 900 body work on a smaller bike so he could reach.

Negative. That bike is a frankenstein conglomeration. It has Hyper bodywork and frame. But the rest is an Aprilia SXV550 except for the wheels.

The Hyper has easily become the new "go to" when movies need a cool bike. Remember the huge deal Duc made over it's appearance in Yes Man.

I refuse to believe that you own a bike that hasn't seen rain. If this is true, you need to push it outside during the next thunderstorm.

the oil filter is on the bottom so anything that would cause it to hit would instantly send oil all over the place. Fun bike but it's not a supermoto...first it's a v-twin not a thumper, the suspension travel is far too short, the weight is a good 150lbs over most supermotos. To give them credit, they do call it a "hyper" instead of "super" motard though. For the street I loved my hyper, it was a fun bike. Still, it's good to see a hyper in a movie.

I'm going to eventually pick up another supermoto for the street, after riding my 09 R6 around it would be so much better on the track...it's a bit boring on the street since riding it fast is IMO far too risky (between cops and the serious lack of run off)

The SXV is a twin and definitely a supermoto.
