Good read

http://www.motorcycledaily.com/11may...ypermotard.htm

Ok so I removed my deposit from the S model at Coleman's and pretty much gave up on the idea since it would not be available until October. I figured, why buy a bike right at the end of the season. Sure I ride all year but those are shorter rides and honestly, not nearly as enjoyable.

Just when I gave up hope I decided to call around and see if I could fine one available. I called around and nothing was available. Well, I called one last shop and they had a base model available. Now, the differences are the forks (same on S and base except the S model has reworked internals), brakes...S has a single cast brake VS 2-piece, rear shock...S has an ohlins VS Sachs (both fully adjustable), and the rims...single mold which are about 4lbs lighter VS the standard rims. Then the S has some carbon fiber bits...nice but doesn't do much for performance. The engines are identical...both have exactly the same power. Well, when I thought about it I figured what the hell...why not get the base since the S only has advantages that really would only come into play with either racing or hard trackdays. I will take the bike to the track but for fun rather than any really hard riding.

Anyhow, I worked out the deal and even threw in the full termi exhaust which includes an upgraded race ECU (5 extra hp taking it from 90 to 95) and additional torque which I'm not sure about. That and from what I hear it sounds kick ass

If all goes as planned I should be picking it up next Saturday.

Thanks go out to Ben at Coleman's who worked and helped me...I would have bought the original bike however, like I said...what's the point at the end of the season. Turns out I'm getting the bike cheaper however, with the full exhaust which is a $2100 upgrade.

So that's that...with some luck I'll have the bike next Saturday

Sweeeeeeeet!
