Cool My buddy's old Motard - September 12, 2007, 09:43 AM

Found this pic on my thumbdrive.

Circa 2004ish. Boy it was loud. I should have bought it but I got the Duke2.

I have a stupid question. What IS a motard? What is a hypermotard? And how do these differ from "dual sports" if they differ at all?

A hypermotard is one that breaks easy from what I've read. More info here:

LOL! It's an honest question! Motards look like dual sports to me.

Nice bike and oh wait...I agree...fun but easy to break.

Then again...it is a Ducati

With any luck I just might have it back in time to make it to da spot...long shot but we'll see!

'Old'

2004, old.

Man I want something fuel injected.

Back on topic, what is that? A YZ450F converted to motard?

I actually have a friend with a YZ426F he is tempted to convert. Conversion costs are a bit prohibitive though, for what he feels he'd get out of it, dosent ride much anymore. However Ive also heard bad stories about converted dirtbikes, cant take the miles apparently, motors not build for street abuse, top ends specifically.

That is true, from what I've read the 450's require twice the maintenance. Basically not a good bike if you want to log any decent amount of miles.
However, from a performance standpoint... they kick ass!

that's just wrong...I mean I agree...but it's wrong

but that doesn't take away from the fact that the hyper is stupid fun...and on a tight course crazy stupid fast out of turns
