Talking New MX bike (Screw you KTM) - April 19, 2014, 02:32 PM

Picked up my new MX bike this morning. Was slightly tempted to get that 14 Husqvarna TC250, or another KTM, but for me the Yamaha is the best bike for my needs. Also my last KTM and the minor issues it had bugged me enough to stay away from the orange bikes after 7 some odd years of riding them.

So this is my new 2013 YZ250. Hopefully this year I will see more track time than I did last year, so hit me up if you guys want to get dirty.

Cool! That looks like a 2-stroke to me. I thought they stopped making 2 stroke MX'rs a few years ago?

Yamaha never stopped making the 85, 125 or 250. Kawasaki still makes the 65 and 85. Then there is KTM, Husqvarna and TM along with a few others. But everyone else has stopped making them.

The 250 2 stroke had gained big popularity since the AMA changed the amateur rules to allow them to race against the 250F's.

Kawi just made some updates to the 85 and 100. I actually wouldn't mind having a 100 for myself.

I forgot Kawi still made the 100.

About the exhaust, I'm gonna run it until it's crushed from roost and then switch to Dr.D. About the wheels, meh, the hubs may not be as nice, but the rims are better than what KTM has as OEM.

Yes rly. My upgrade parts should be here in a few days for this thing and I can ride it. Ordered some new bars, a 1 tooth larger rear sprocket, an hour meter, some new grips, and a blue rear fender to replace the ugly white one.

I haven't rode at Tomahawk in some time. That would be sweet.
