New to Town - March 1, 2014, 08:35 AM

Just moved back to Arlington after a couple years and Brazil and am looking to find some folks to ride with. Hoping to do a good number of the scrambles this year, so I'd love to do some training.

Let me know where you guys are, and if you don't mind a tag-a-long, I'd love to meet up for some rides. If anyone's close by, let me know too, I'll buy you a beer.

Welcome back! If winter ever ends, there should be a bunch of things going on.

Good to see you made it over here.

When ever the ice melts (mid august the way things are going) there will be a group ride out at taskers gap.

Congratulations and my condolences for coming back to Arlington. How did you like Brazil? In what part of Brazil were you?

Hahahaha I brought back nice weather and plenty of bunda. Unfortunately, one is stuck inside of the other. I'll let you figure out how that works.

I was in Brasilia. Not the sexiest place in the world, but on days/months like today/this never ending one, I do miss 75 and sunny every friggin day.

Looking forward to the thaw and the March 16th hare scramble (thaw or no thaw!)

Welcome. Are you going to check out the first VCHSS race in King George? Aside from riding around my house, I think that will be the next race/ride.

You can live in your car, but you can't race your house.

I'm going to try to head down to the VCHSS race on Sunday. Hope to see you there (What bike and number should I look for?) Looks like I'm going to try to head out on Sunday morning. Anyone going down night before? I saw there's no practice on Sat

I'm still debating whether I'll actually race though. I bought my current bike a month ago when I got back to the US, so I haven't even done a trail on it yet. I did a pretty full chassis tear down on it and, it seems good to go (pending a few parts that I need to swap out this week), but it's my first two banger and I've never actually raced in the US (only Brazil).

I feel like my riding opportunities may be limited over the next year though, so I think I'll just grab the bull by horns and see how long I can go before a) my bike explodes or b) I wrap it around a tree.

How long are the C class races usually?

oh, and I saw on the forms part of the VCHSS site that there is an AMA Waiver that looks like it needs to be notarized. I can't find anywhere in the rules or the reg forms that says I need it. Do I really need to get that thing notarized before Sunday?

Haha I bet your glad to flush toilet paper again lol. Worst thing ever, our office bathroom had zero AC and in some South American regions the sewer system can not handle toilet paper, after lunch horrible smell.
