It was the sandy stuff and the small trees that made me think of NJ though. Pine Barrens (barons?) are all sand it seems. I've heard of 3-4' deep whoops for miles although I didn't see any of that in the little I've ridden there.

I've seen lots of that in videos a friend in NJ has posted. I keep threatening to go up there and own his ass because he could kill me roadracing.
