I thought I was the only one that did that in the back of the family van on road trips.

My next project is going to be a CR250 Supermoto. I should just do a 500AF but I just don't think I'd be able to ride it. Tempting though!!!

I really just want to pull the motor out of the priller and stick it in an RS250 chassis. You know...Just the tip, just for a minute...just to see how it feels.

Spot on.

I got the wiring/electrical figured out on my KTM and will hopefully have it on the street in a couple of weeks.

I took yesterday off and spent the entire day on it, like 14 hours. Let's just say I know the wiring diagram for this bike pretty well now. The owner before last apparently decided to rig the bike for strictly offroad so he went in and clipped wires for the neutral and kill switches so he could reroute them outside of the main harness. He jacked up the front blinker wiring as well. Then he decided he wanted lights again but couldn't get it all to work. The previous owner who bought it from him just took the useless electricals off and rode around pastures.

I was able to salvage and repair the kill switch and speedometer wire harness. By repair I mean getting some cut wires back into place on the multiple plug connectors by cannibalizing some pieces off other jacked-up harnesses and getting creative with some butt splices. The rear wiring harness that connects the rear turn signals, tag, brake, and tail lights is unscathed. However, the main harness is too jacked to rescue. Also the ignition lock harness is all effed up. I had to buy these two harnesses new. I did a few other minor repairs and still plan to change the coolant, speedo cable, throttle cable, and the rear shock spring for one with a 7.0 Kg/mm spring rate (KTMs are notoriously undersprung).

So I just ordered this stuff and more this morning form Matto Cycle up in PA. When it all arrives, the fun begins. I'm hoping the turn signal diodes, rotor & stator, and voltage regulator are all still functional. Once the lights work, it'll be DOT tire time. Can't afford to replace my dirt hoops with 17" wheels yet so my options are extremely limited. Oh, and I'll have to buy a DOT-approved headlight. The OEM lens is cracked (won't pass inspection), and the Acerbis DHH that the prev owner gave me is not DOT-approved.

I'll need to keep living like a monk to afford all this. However, I can't freaking wait! Watching the snow yesterday I kept thinking back to the fun I had with the YZ400 in fresh snow. I wanted to go slide around in it yesterday sooooo bad!
