Supermotard racing - March 14, 2008, 03:41 PM

Supermotard racing It looks as though www.esmra.com will be holding a bunch of events for us this year. 2 events are on the schedual for Beaverun Pa.! They promise to add more.

Remember www.bataviakarting.com is also hosting a "track" supermotard series.

Etown in NJ. is also hosting "track" races.

I plan on running a few races but not for a few seasons because of my road schedule and money.

I'll run the DRZ class however, I hear that class has some very very fast riders so it should be fun but I fully expect to get my butt kicked

I raced with ESMRA a couple years ago. It is such a Niche sport but looks like they are really trying to make it work here in the MA/NE area. They are nice people. The only problem I had is there really wasn't much of an expert class as the sport is so new, there were never more then 3 riders then in my class, but the Am and Novices usually had a bigger classes. I might try it again if I can fit in my schedule to see if it has grown any.

SM's down in deals gap is a freaking blast... Been taking SM's down there for years with some others and it's a blast... Just plan your gas stops...

Take a look on map... if you wind up riding off to the East... Look for a road off the BRP - it's 55 or 58 just north of a Major stop... It's on the top of the mtn... The road zig zags down the mountain, the straights are maybe 100ft long with hairpin turns...

It's the 1st road I ever really felt tired on throwing my drz around on, and I scraped pegs....It's hit the throttle, then brake, then throw to one side, come out of a turn.. and repeat ...

Deals gap has a map that showes "motorcycle roads" - they miss a number of good one - but we trailed a bunch of those roads to get there and had a blast...

Also, if you can handle a long day.. the roads outta TWO is amazing on a tard..
