Tutu ride 2013 - October 30, 2013, 07:39 AM

As some of you know, I raise money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation every year by racing in a tutu and a few other things. I thought I would post an update from this year's drive along with the race results. This year brought the same outstanding support from my friends and family but an unexpected twist happened just a week before the race. A few of my sponsors stepped in and contributed a few things to the cause. Most notably, a graphics donation by CycleWorks that left my bike just as pretty in pink as me.

I managed to actually pull off a win in Vet C this time around but the real win was raising over $2,300 for my charity, surpassing my goal of $1,500 and last year's total of $1,566. The outpouring of support from both my personal and professional communities was staggering so I will definitely keep doing this as long as people keep supporting it.

A link to my actual fundraising page is below and that will show you not only what I made but provide you with information about my charity as well.

Figured you guys would also get a kick out of some pics. I led this race every lap and forced myself to control it over the last two, especially after a big 4th gear getoff on the last lap. I had to get around one guy, stretch the lead, then back it off and figure out how to control the bike with trashed bars.

Just narrowly got nipped for the holeshot

I don't care if it's the start, I'm still standing.

Gun show while wheelying off the whoops.

Hitting the scoring chicane the last time and almost stopping in it because I saw "CLASS LEADER" still displayed on the board. Every bike in the picture except the one with green plates is in my class. Top 5 finished within 25 seconds of each other.

Thanks to everyone who supported me this year! I hope I was able to exceed your expectations!

One more shot from the start. 44 is the closest I've ever had to a rival. He's a holeshot artist so staying with him into T1 was a huge deal for me.

Foot position is almost exactly the same. Thought that was cool
