Cruiser Riders Organized Rides Feeler... - March 31, 2007, 07:08 AM

One of the things I love about this site is the diversity of the bike styles represented here. Most of us either own, have owned, or are planning to own a sportbike, but we also have Cruisers, Supermotos, Dirtbikes, Pocketbikes, ATV's, etc.

The purpose of this thread is to see how many of the people on this forum, who also own CRUISERS, would like to see some organized rides put together.

I think it would be fun to be able to ride with people that don't have that "HARLEY" mentality and aren't ashamed of wearing GEAR on a cruiser. Riders that are willing to put railing aside for the day and just do a chillax ride around some of the nice roads in the region and take in the sites.

One of the ideas I am contemplating is a picture taking Cruise on Skyline drive and surrounding areas. This would be an organized, mapped out in advance, ride with stops at various scenic locations to get some quailty snapping in.

So if any of you are interested in putting some "Organized Cruises" together, post up. Also share some of your possible ride route ideas, meet up points, and available lunch stops.

I'm not a Skyline Drive person (afraid of heights, don't ask) but I'm in for a cruiser ride!

Guzz, I know Tiff would love to meet up with some other cruiser people and go for a ride w/ you. I would too, I've got access to one at my disposal should I want to borrow it. Let us know!

I should probably expand this feeler to include sport touring bikes. I am looking for people that just want to "Cruise", but wear gear and aren't trying to be Harley copycats. I don't have anything against Harley riders, it's the image they want and they do it well, but it isn't me. I actually think a blend of Cruisers & Sport Touring type bikes would make a nice mix!

If I draft the cruiserhubby, am I invited to join on my Katana? Suzuki classifies the Kat as a sport tourer (perhaps the most uncomfortable "tourer" on record). I DO have touring tires on her!

Guzz, can I sneak in on my maxi-scooter? I think it'll blend it, surely will keep up, plus it holds my camera gear quite nicely.

Cheers
