For Nunya - We got drunk.... The 1980 440 - August 2, 2008, 01:42 AM

Measuring

Remeasuring

Cutting the seat pan.
\

Subframe trim

Son-of-a-bitch needed coaxing

That fits a bit better...

These have been sitting in varnish for over two years... simple green

Headers, wheels, airbox, carbs, battery, tray.... removed.

Some more cutting

Sorry Harv, I know the purist in you dies to see this.

New tires, carbs cleaned, forks rebuilt, motor freshened and prettied, hopefully a few pointers and some help from Nunya on what might be a unique exhaust.... I estimate a month until the first bike I ever owned is back on the street.

Looking good. Which Simple Green product did you use for the carbs?

Awesome!

And even though it's after the fact... eye protection when using the grinder.

I offered Kaan my glasses but he'd have none of it. Kids a master metal fabricator so I leave him to himself.

He was supervising and being the photographer. That totally counts as 'we'. It is looking pretty sweet!

I cant remember what the simple green solution started with... well its in a white 1 gal jug... and i filled the 16 quart pot with about 8 quart of simple green and just added enough water to get it over the carbs.

I spent 2.5 years welding and fabbing metal... eye protection just makes me sweat more and i'm a fat bastard so i sweat enough as is...

I made a "little" nic in the frame... once the motor is out i'm going to take the frame to my old shop and "fix" it and do some other minor welding to the rest of the frame. then its ready to rattle bomb!

If bens arm wasnt fucked up i would have just measured it up for him and marked it and let him do all the work... but i dont want him to end up like Yao with a constantly fucked up arm

oh yeah... dont mind the mess in the garage... we use it from time to time to "fix" motorcycles haha

ROFL... 3 motorcycles are mine... two of them are just frames sitting And i think i have enough parts to get 4-5 CB750 projects off the ground (minus frames).... anyone have a sand blaster laying around?
