I will be working the WERA rounds as of right now.

I know the race school is to get certified to race with CCS/WERA etc organizations, but what level of coaching can I expect? I'm trying to plan out this year's riding and I'm interested in something like this, even though I plan sticking to minis for my wheel to wheel needs.

There's racers coaching so you can probably get what you're looking for.
A big part of if is how comfortable you are out there.

I dropped a few seconds off my time after a day of training with rick and jason. Im down to 1:20.068.

Hopefully with this new suspension I'll get under that. Inchallah...

At a MARRC track day is where you can expect coaching.

But the racer school is more to teach you what you need to know for racing. You should already know how to get around a track decently.

Do first timers get paired with their own coach/control riders?

As CMG said, the school is more race specific instruction- rules, regs and procedures plus track time and pointers.
See below too

There is not necessarily a pairing/ one on one thing per se BUT you or anyone else can ask any of the CR's for help at any time. Especially if it is your first time. That said, the ratio of coaches is high in the Novice group. There isn't one CR I know that would say no to leading you around the first session. That's what we are there for.
Its often hard to remember who is on what bike and what group when there are 100 people at the racetrack so we always encourage folks to engage any of us in the club.
Oh, and keep your eyes peeled. We have an intro class for first timers coming up. I'll post it here soon!
