BMW S1000RR Piranha - October 13, 2010, 07:48 AM

The Wunderlich accessories and after parts specialist for BMW models produced this S1000RR Piranha edition and took it along to the 2010 Intermot show. This is about as mean as the BMW superbike could get - ripping off some of the fairing we get a nasty-looking naked bike that could even compete with the Aprilia Tuono.

Itís not exactly in BMW S1000RR style but then perhaps itís not a bad thing to see some experimentation every so often. Besides, this is not the standard offering in the line-up but an extra take that allows customers to let their imagination go wild (literally).

The S1000RR Piranha features asymmetrical fairing and just a tiny amount of covering across the airbox and tank which supports the front headlight. The instrumentation is mostly on display and a new gold steering base supports the handle bars.

Beyond the detail, the overall effect is pastiche - with bits and pieces featuring racing components and even carbon fibre. The exhaust is a different shape, there are MotoMaster wave brakes which is the only modification to the braking system, and there are also PVM six-spoke alloy wheels. You can either hand over your bike to the guys at Wunderlich or buy the kit. For more information see Wunderlich.de.

I'm not much of a naked bike lover...I do think the less is more is cool on crusiers when talking about choppers specifically, but this bike...the BMW S1000RR overall is like the bike of the century damn...that shit is so sweet.

At the track the guys were like yeah come to the shop and you can test ride one...I'm thinking sure....okay, then what I have to act like I want to buy one??? He was like no we have demo's come by....and I'm thinkin well you ONLY have demos in attempt to sell people a bike...not b/c you JUST want people to experience how great it is....

anyways I think if dealers let riders test ride their bikes that would be cool....and I'm not talking about the guy who just got a license or only been riding for like 2-3 years of something....you'd have to be a very well seasoned rider.

What do you value more? Life or Image?

I like it but I like weird things.

Now as a standalone bike I would love it but I don't think I could pull the fairings off the S1000RR to put these on, they're just too sexy

man this bike is the SHIT....like I don't know whatelse could be done to a bike beyond this...

someone said okay...well watch the big 4 will start unlimiting their bikes....that would be cool BUT...not likely.

I mean the only thing better that could happen to bikes is if like Lambo or Ferrari came out with a bike with BETTER performance and tech....and that is highly unlikely.

THIS BIKE IS IT. I WANT ONE. well the fairing model.

Looks too busy, hard on the eyes, I like the brake rotors though.
