I WANT UPDATES!

All these new bikes that came out over the last two years, the 1290r super duke, the 690 and 390 duke, the RC390.

What happened to the 1190 rc8 r?? It's no longer listed on KTM's website.

How are they doing? How has the maintenance been? Are you happy with the price of the bike and what your getting out of it?

RC8R was discontinued. KTM said it was too powerful for a street bike

Wow, so instead of going with an advance electronics package and keeping up they just quit all together...

Lame.

It was more a philosophical decision. They didnt think people should have a bike that powerful for the streets

Hmmm. I guess I can see that side of the coin.

Really been thinking about the Super Duke R. Saw one on the street a while back and it was beautiful. I think it was Big Sur that did all the updates as he was the only one really buying KTM but I haven't seen him around for quite some time.

Agreed, that's a beauty. My next bike is either going to be a sumo or a naked.

I thought about swapping my Multi for a 1290R, but the girlfriend always wants to ride

Shssssshhh

KTMs "We feel a social responsibility to not produce such fast street bikes...." was really code for "We got our asses kicked trying to road race so we quit making them."

There's bold riders and old riders, but damn few bold old riders.

I enjoyed riding both the duke 390 and 690 at the demo day in frederick a few months back. The 390 didn't feel cheap to me (talking about riding it rather than bench racing) and the 690 didn't feel like that much of a higher spec bike. Of course, the 690 is way more powerful. Fun bikes and I could see owning either one.

The new superduke is on a very short list of bikes I'd love to own.

To me the dukes and superdukes are motorcycles as toys and, for that, the superduke just seems too over the top. I suppose that's what people who buy them want though, something that's too over the top.
