Cool '46 Moto Guzzi Dondolino - April 4, 2011, 02:39 PM

For those of us who braved the weather on Saturday got a rare treat. We got to watch a 1946 Moto Guzzi Dondolino turn laps at Summit Point during the Pirelli - WERA Sportsman series races.

Not only did he turn laps.....he was pulling the shit off IN THE RAIN AND SLEET!!

I worked turn 1 with Hollywood. He was on the outside as the corner captain, and I was inside in the flag tub. Chris yells across to me at one point and says, "Did you see that thing?!?!?! He must've gotten that out of the museum at Barber!!"

Not sure who....but we were corrected over on the WERA board. The guy who was racing it on Saturday got it "out of a barn in New York" and it was previously "out of a museum in Japan".

It looked almost identical to this one, except the tank was all red.

It was loud, sexy and oh so vintage.

Thats what you are suppose to do with bike and cars for that mater. Ride them and drive them no matter how old they are! That would have been awesome to see and props to the dude for flogging on that bike.

And ridden by THE Dave Roper, only American to win an IOM TT race (not counting last year's electric bike race).
