Hey Rachel! You don't know me but I am very familiar w/ who you are, being that you are the other R in RnR Cycles. Plus I often see you riding or driving home from work, since we seem to come home the same way and I think I have also seen you at Olympus Gym in Sterling. Yesterday at Wiehle & Dranesville Rd I noticed you were taking pics of the RnR sticker on the back of my SUV. Just wanted to say "HI" and hope to meet you in person one day. My husband knows Rick, has for years back in Fast Lanes days, and will be taking the racing school this Friday at Summit. I ride as well, but my bike is in the process of being rebuilt. Well, just wanted to drop you a line, take care and ride dirty girl

    About Me
According to Rick, I'm the backwards 'R' in RnR. Yes, RnR does stand for Rick and Rachel or vice versa, depending on who you ask. Okay, so don't roll your eyes. We went through weeks of fighting about what the name was going to be, pulling out a Thesaurus, throwing it at each other, when Rick came up with RnR Cycles and we just rolled with it.

I met Rick racing and then he seduced me and now here we are. I got my motorcycle license when I was 17, riding a lil 1975 CT70. In Fairfax County, any bike over 50cc-s requires a motorcycle license. I rode that thing around until I went to college and then didn't ride for a couple years. Then one day, at the wise age of 23, I jumped on a 1993 ZX6E and loved it. I was an idiot. I rode over my head, crashed that bitch at least 4 times, and I am still wondering why I am still alive. After it cost too much to fix it, I jumped on a 1998 ZX9R. Smart, huh?

I would often watch racing and say to myself, 'self, I can do that!' just as I had when I watched Top Gun and Days of Thunder, if that tells you anything. Finally, I did do it. I took the MARRC Roadracing School (http://marrc.nova.org/html_docs/rrs.html) in 2004, got my license, raced one race in the rain, wrecked, and didn't really have the know-how or the money to race any more that year. In 2005, I joined Rick Beggs' race team, formerly of Fast Lane Cycles. By being a part of the team, I had a whole crew of big brothers to help me learn how to fix my bike and about racing in general. Which was good since I seemed to wreck too often.

This year, I'm still trying to get even faster. I'm hoping to take Cornerspin and wouldn't mind taking a local race school, if I can find one. The economy has finally taking a toll, so we'll only be running one team in the ASRA Team Challenge series.

I not only work, work at RnR, and race, but I play on an Ultimate Frisbee league (www.wafc.org) during the Spring, Fall, and Winter. Yes, Winter. You should check
    What bikes do you own?
For street, I still have my first bike, a Honda CT70, and my second bike, a ZX6E, but neither are really running. We'll call them 'project' bikes now. :D My third and current bike is a ZX9R. All my money goes to racing so who knows when I'll update to a newer bike, but I love my aging, big curvy bitch! For racing, the only bike I have yet to get rid of is my first race bike, a 1995 Yamaha YZF 600. I still have my 2000 ZX6R and last year's bike, a 2004 ZX6R. This year, I'm thinking about putting my 2000 ZX6R back on the street.
